SELAYANG HOSPITAL

I've been to many hospitals in and around Selangor, but the General Hospital at Selayang, Selangor is quite impressive! (My mom has her hypertension monitored here.) This is the first paperless hospital in Malaysia, if I'm not mistaken. It was orderly and check up was a breeze! Nurses are pleasant and professional in their duties, a far cry from the General Hospital in KL as was the Universiti Hospital, 10 - 20 years back! Those days, nurses barked at you! Doctors here are more patient, probably because they did not have to do much writing! But I dread to think of the standstill in the event of a system breakdown, like banks often have! Computers - boon or bane?

OH WHAT A NITE

We attended Ango's (now called Kenny) son's 21st birthday party held at the K-Box. My mom whacked abt 10 scallops, Millie had 12 oysters, Christine had 15 pieces of Sushi, Ling had 2KG of roast pork and Alfred had only 1 oyster but 1 kg of Roast Lamb! Me? Just drank Chinese Tea!

Adults were still eating and yakking but the kids were singing their lungs out in one of the 30 K-OK rooms! Christine went in to check on them but came out and confessed that she REALLY was very old cos she had never heard of the songs that the kids were singing! Later when I checked on them, all of them complained that their throats were sore - they did not want to use the microphones!

Then we went in and requested for Elvis Presley's songs and some other oldies - all of them asked us to get out of their room and look for some other rooms cos the songs were too old for them. Beverly refused to give us the mics cos she said we'd ruin the songs! The kids were so pissed off with us cos we invaded their fun! The two old hags, Millie and Christine even sang a Hindi song, Kuch Kuch Hota Hae!!! We all vomitted! When Alfred sang everyone cursed him - he was off key!!!! Oh what a night it was!

PS That was my second time in a K-OK! Yeah, rite, I'm a Jungle Woman! Wished all of you were here..but then, it would have been a Tsunami!

Too Many Dinners

Just got back from a Full Moon dinner. One of Kim's deaf friends whom we had known since Kim's primary school days had given birth to a baby girl. Baby has no hearing problem. Father of baby is a Hearing person. Both parents met whilst studying at a Polytechnic far from home, fell in love, not married yet, but the stork has brought the bundle. Killed two birds with a stone!

Ango (Sin Kau) and wife, Sae Moi will be celebrating their son's 21st birthday at their K-Box Karaoke on Sunday. I got a (yeah, rite, lou-thou [old fashioned]) key on behalf of my mom, Wan Yee and Yee Cheong and Heng Yee and Feilou Ti. Heng Yee can't make it for the dinner so Yee Cheong will not go too. We might have to leave early bearing in mind kids have school on Monday. One more Full Moon dinner in Ipoh (very good friend's brother's first newborn) but we might not be able to attend but have not given our answers yet.

Betty's Nest

Lu Chien (Chae Lian's hubby, also May's brother-in-law) completed the cabinet in Betty's nest. Christine and I picked a very bright orange. According to Lu Chien, the workers at Sing Fatt commented that the colour was very outlandish. Fortunately it's very bright and pleasant and we have no regrets. (Better than Ku Chieh's blue!)

We have to get a Zanussi cooker that comes with an electric oven so that Darren can bake us a cake and Christine can cook Maggi noodles.

Not buying the settee yet cos someone promised to give us hers. Since beggars can't choose (the date of handing over the stuff), Christine will just have to, in the mean time, sit on the floor and wait for the delivery.

Ipoh Mali

Ling arrived on Thursday. Her Coolie, Sunny, went to pick her up from Pudu Raya, went over to visit King and Bui Bui and to hv a peep at Junior. Junior is soooo chubby...he looks like his grandpa, honest.

Then she came by my place with an oversized bag...in it were lots of Tau Sar Pneah, coconut cookies, Honeycomb, Heong Pneah....wah, looks like this mth LHC's profit will be smaller!! (Miao-miao must be salivating right now!)

When Millie came over, we all went to Puchong Bt 14 for Yong Tau Foo...mmm so sedap! Place was packed; we had to wait for 40 minutes! Ling swallowed 17 pieces!

Jungle Woman

Hi, I'm the Jungle Woman having her first taste of blogging. First of all I wanna record my gratitude to Hwa (a computer genius) who kindly and patiently guided me and eventually saw me to this successful posting!

Purpose of setting up this Blog or whatever u call it is to post all the happenings within our families so that u nuts from the States and Spore (also, my chums from Kuching and Germany and later on the Larssons when they are kicked back to Sweden) will not be ketinggalan zaman (for those illiterate in BM, it means left behind or blurr, so to speak.

Ok, this is it for my first posting. I still have to check out the whole thingy!
